What Is EQTRun? A Different Kind of Equity Screener

By EQTRun · · 3 min read

The equity screening landscape is crowded. From Finviz to TradingView to Koyfin, traders and investors have no shortage of tools to filter stocks. But most of these platforms share a common limitation: they are reactive, not proactive.

You log in. You set filters. You scan results. Then you do it again tomorrow.

EQTRun takes a different approach. EQTRun computes 24 technical signals across 30,000+ securities on 70+ global exchanges every day — and push the results to you. No manual scanning required.

What Makes EQTRun Different

1. Pre-Computed Signals, Not Just Filters

Traditional screeners let you filter stocks by criteria like "RSI below 30" or "price above 200-day MA." That is useful, but it requires you to know exactly what to look for — and to check every day.

EQTRun runs 20 different technical signal algorithms across the entire global equity universe after each exchange closes. When a Golden Cross forms on a stock listed in Tokyo, or a Volume Breakout triggers on the London Stock Exchange, you know about it by the time you check your inbox. Every report can be downloaded as a PDF or Excel file for offline analysis or sharing with colleagues.

2. 762 Custom EQTR Industry Indexes

EQTRun computes equal-weighted industry indexes across 8 geographies (US, Western Europe, China/HK, Asia ex-Japan/China, Japan, Middle East & Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America) — 762 indexes in total.

The idea is simple: instead of following narratives or guessing which sectors are hot, you can see exactly which parts of the market are moving and where. Software stocks in Western Europe quietly rallying while US tech stalls? Agricultural inputs in China are breaking out? EQTR indexes surface these dynamics automatically.

And what's driving that?

Equal-weighted because cap-weighted indexes hide what is really happening — a handful of mega-caps can mask weakness (or strength) across the rest of the industry. Equal weighting gives every constituent the same voice, so you get the true internal picture.

3. Market Breadth Built In

Market breadth tells you whether a rally is broad-based or narrow — one of the most useful things to know before making decisions. EQTRun computes 10 breadth indicators across 145 scopes, from the full US market down to individual sectors and geographies. It is included as part of the platform, not a separate product.

4. Global Coverage as Standard

Finviz covers US stocks only. Many others treat international data as a premium add-on. EQTRun screens 70+ exchanges across all major regions as standard. Your screen can include NYSE, TSE, LSE, HKEX, and ASX in a single query.

5. Your Own Watchlist, Always Monitored

Already have a portfolio or watchlist you want to track? You can upload your own list of securities and EQTRun will monitor them daily for all 24 signals. No need to manually check charts — when a stock in your list breaks out of a Bollinger Band, forms a Golden Cross, or shows a shift in momentum, you will see it in your results and get it in your inbox.

It is a simple way to stay on top of significant price moves across everything you care about, without the daily effort of checking each one.
